Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions about our skippered boat rental. Can't find what you're looking for? Message us on WhatsApp — we're happy to help.

Skipper and licence

  • Yes. The rental always includes a skipper: a local expert steers the boat and takes you to the coves. It is not a self-drive rental.

  • No, no licence is needed. Since our skipper does the driving, you can come aboard and enjoy the day with no sailing experience at all.

  • The boat is handled by the skipper, for everyone's safety and in line with regulations. You just relax: we take care of the navigation.

On board

  • The Capelli Tempest 570 is perfect for couples, families and small groups of friends. For the exact number of seats available on your date, message us on WhatsApp.

  • Yes, the trip is always private: the Capelli Tempest 570 is reserved exclusively for you. No group tours with strangers on board — just your party, the skipper and the sea.

  • Of course, children are welcome. Let us know their ages and how many in chat, so we can prepare the trip calmly and with the right equipment.

  • Yes, you can bring food and drinks on board for your day at sea. If you have particular needs, let's talk about it on WhatsApp while we plan the trip.

  • The rental includes the skipper. Other details — duration, fuel and equipment — are agreed together in chat based on the day and route you choose, so you always have clear, up-to-date information.

Beaches and route

  • It depends on the weather and what you're after. Among the most loved spots in the La Maddalena archipelago are the Pink Beach of Budelli, Cala Corsara on Spargi, Santa Maria beach and Cala Coticcio on Caprera. We choose the route together based on the day.

  • The Pink Beach of Budelli is a protected area: landing and walking on the sand are not allowed, but you admire it up close from the water — one of the highlights of the trip. With the skipper we approach it respecting the Park's rules.

  • Cala Coticcio, on the Caprera side, is nicknamed the "Tahiti of the Mediterranean" for its emerald water and hidden inlets. Weather permitting, we approach it by sea for a swim in its crystal-clear water.

  • It's personalised. As it's a private trip with a local skipper, we build the route around you and the day's conditions: the skipper knows the archipelago and picks the coves most sheltered from the wind and the best spots for a swim.

Booking and planning

  • Bookings are handled via WhatsApp and prices are on request: they depend on the season and the type of trip. Message us with the date you have in mind and we'll send availability and a quote right away.

  • The meeting point can be in La Maddalena or Palau, whichever is more convenient for you. We'll confirm the exact address and time on WhatsApp when you book.

  • Yes. As well as from La Maddalena, we can arrange departure from the port of Palau, just minutes from the archipelago — handy if you're staying nearby. Let us know in chat where you'd rather set off from and we'll agree on the meeting point and time together.

  • Several formats are possible, from half a day to a full day. We adapt to your schedule: we choose the best duration together when planning the trip.

  • Safety comes first. In case of adverse sea conditions we agree on a new day or the possible alternatives together. We discuss it in advance via WhatsApp.
